May 08:
Weddings, Melas and BBC Radio 2!
The summer season is upon us and that means open air gigs and, of course, weddings. Listen out for us playing at various Indian weddings this summer – from early mornings at your local Gurdwara, to evenings in posh London hotels.
We'll also be playing in various open air venues, from Melas in Norway (brrr!) and London, performances in Italy and France and outside London's National Theatre.

Olympic Torch Relay
The BBB played for the Olympic Relay at Somerset House in central London on 6th April (in the snow!), accompanying BBC Blue Peter's Zoe Salmon as she ran through the courtyard. Understandably, most of the TV news footage was of the protesters, but there was a great aerial shot of us with the kids in the fountains, and we were even shown (briefly) on Blue Peter!
Before the torch arrived we revisited our summer performance in the fountains along with 60 dancing school children, with moves - as always - by choreographer Aletta Collins.

Brass Britain on BBC Radio 2
Our music will be featured in a new series on BBC Radio 2 starting on Mon 19 May at 11.30pm:
‘Brassed Off star Stephen Tompkinson presents a celebration of the UK's long love affair with brass bands and the music of brass. The series looks at the roots of brass bands, the importance of brass band dynasties and how brass has influenced the musical careers of today's top artists.’ Kay from the BBB was interviewed for the series and our music can be heard in episodes 1 and 4, so don't forget to tune in!
Norwegian Lollywood
Rehearsals are underway for an exciting project later in the year: we’ll be performing at the Oslo Opera House in Norway with singer Rafaqat Ali Khan.
For the concerts we’ll be accompanied by a string section, and brand new repertoire will include songs by Noor Jehan.
Jehan was a childhood friend of Lata Mangeshkar but is less well known because she moved to Pakistan after Partition; however she was just as prolific and is said to have recorded around 10,000 songs, mainly for the film industry based in Lahore – Lollywood for short.
We are on MySpace. Click here to see our page and listen to some tracks.
Click here to hear some of us live on Nihal's show on BBC Asian Network (on 27/08/07) talking about our contribution to the current India Now festival - including the up and coming workshops at the Museum of London.
Mark and Kay did an interview for the BBC Hindi service last year, if you can read Hindi, click here to see the page!
