"Things I've learnt
- the saxophone can be different shapes...
the sousaphone is the biggest instrument... the small drum had the
high notes and the big drum had the low notes..."
- Yr 5 pupil
The concert can be aimed at any age group, and consists of a 50-
minute performance accompanied by video excerpts from Bollywood
films. The band demonstrates the various instruments: brass, woodwind
and percussion, including more unusual instruments like the
dhol (pictured), tabla and sousaphone (pictured below).
There are opportunities for the audience to join in, by clapping
or singing, and there is a question and answer session at
the end.
A worksheet can be given to the children, with questions about
the instruments and the concert. |
